SITE WIDE NAVIGATION LINKS - ACCESS KEY

The implementation of Access Keys ensures the user is able to access specific links that they may find helpful by using browser-specific shortcuts. For example, in Internet Explorer and Netscape, the user can use a key combination on their keyboard of the Alt key and one of the numbers or letters below. This is helpful for users who find it difficult to manage a mouse.

HOW TO USE ACCESS KEYS

  • Internet Explorer 5+ for PC : Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key, then press ENTER
  • Internet Explorer 4 for PC : Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key
  • Firefox & Mozilla for PC : Hold down the ALT key and press the number of the access key
  • Opera : In sequence press SHIFT then ESC and then select the number/letter of the access key
  • Internet Explorer 5+ for Mac : Hold down the CTRL key and select the number/letter of the access key
  • Internet Explorer 4.5 for Mac : Access keys are NOT supported
  • Firefox & Mozilla for Mac : Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key
  • Safari & Omniweb for Mac : Hold down the CTRL key and press the number of the access key
  • Netscape 6+ : Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key
  • Netscape earlier versions : Access keys are NOT supported
